Assistance Animal Information

The Deniliquin Play On The Plains Festival Ltd only permits guide dogs, hearing dogs and trained assistance animals on to the Festival Site and campgrounds. All assistance animals must adhere to the legislation regarding as Assistance Animals. 

Assistance animals include:

  • Guide Dogs: trained to assist people who are blind or with low vision. 
  • Hearing dogs: trained to assist people who are deaf or hard of hearing. 
  • Mobility support animals: trained to assist people with physical disabilities who are wheelchair users or use other mobility devices to assist with limited mobility. 
  • Medical alert animals: trained to assist their handlers before and during a medical emergency. 
  • Psychiatric service animals: trained to assist people with psychiatric disabilities.

Owners of an assistance animal (expect guide dogs), must provide proof that their animal is trained. This proof should include either: 

  • An Assistance Animal Pass (VIC)
  • Service Dog ID Card Handler’s Identity Card (QLD) Proof that the animal has passed a Public Access Test. 
  • An identity disc and a signed statement or documentation issued by a recognised training body that their animal (or is being) trained as an assistance animal to alleviate the effects of a disability, or a card issued by: Animal Assisted Therapy Australia, Assistance Dogs Australia, Association of Australia Service Dogs, Australian Support Dogs. 

Owners of Guide Dogs are not required to provide proof of training. 

Animals not considered by the Deniliquin Play On The Plains Festival Ltd to be assistance animals: 

  • Pet or ‘companion’ animals. 
  • Therapy animals. 
  • Facility animals that visit people living in hospitals and other medical-related institutions. 
  • Animals kept inside motorhomes, vehicles or at campsites in the campgrounds during the festival. 

All patrons bringing their Assistance Animal to the Deni Ute Muster (Guide Dogs no form/approval required), will need to complete the below registration form and a staff member of Deniliquin Play On The Plains Festival Ltd will be in touch with you.
