VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
HOW DO I BECOME A VOLUNTEER?
- Complete an Expression of Interest to Volunteer form on our website. (Applications open April 2026.)
- Your application will be reviewed, and a staff member will contact you within 14 days.
- If accepted into our volunteer program, you will be offered shifts based on availability.
- Attend your shifts and enjoy the Muster!
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN BEING A VOLUNTEER AND WHAT AREAS CAN I VOLUNTEER IN?
Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours over the Ute Muster weekend. We require volunteeers in the below areas.
merchandise shed
Volunteers will assist with either serving or stacking in this fast-paced environment. Roles include selling merchandise and processing payments, or restocking shelves, moving stock from containers, crushing boxes, and keeping the shed tidy. Volunteers should be confident, friendly, and able to stand for extended periods.
18+ wristbanding
Volunteers must be 18+, hold a current NSW or approved interstate RSA, and be confident, friendly, and comfortable standing outdoors for the duration of their shift.
arena cleaning
Volunteers help keep the festival arena tidy. Duties include picking up rubbish, clearing eating areas and tables, and replacing full bins with empty ones.
gate scanning
Volunteers scan patrons in and out of the festival. This outdoor role requires confidence, friendliness, and the ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
bars
Volunteers assist in the bars, by either serving or stacking. Serving includes selling drinks, following RSA requirements, and processing payments. Stacking includes restocking, crushing boxes, and keeping the area tidy. Volunteers must be 18+, servers require a current NSW or approved interstate RSA, and all should be confident, friendly, and able to stand for extended periods.
traffic
Volunteers help direct vehicles into the festival safely, keeping traffic orderly. This outdoor role requires confidence, awareness, and the ability to stand for long periods in all weather.
camping marshals
Volunteers direct patrons and vehicles to their camp areas. This outdoor role requires confidence, friendliness, and the ability to stand for long periods.
bus stop
Volunteers scan patrons on and off buses using a device. This role runs from gate open to gate close on Friday and Saturday and requires standing outdoors in all weather. Volunteers should be confident, friendly, and able to work for extended periods.
We will do our best to accommodate preferred shift requests, but this cannot be guaranteed. Volunteers will not be rostered for consecutive shifts or the same shift times over the weekend. Shifts may be changed at short notice, and volunteers may be asked to assist in other areas if required.
WHAT DO I GET FOR BEING A VOLUNTEER?
Volunteers receive a wristband giving full festival access, a volunteer t-shirt, and access to the volunteer camping area. A thank-you evening will be held after the event.
I AM PART OF A COMMUNITY GROUP AND WE WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER. CAN WE DO THIS?
Yes! All participating community groups must provide a minimum of eight volunteers over the weekend. Please contact Muster HQ for more information.
I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OLD. CAN I STILL VOLUNTEER?
Volunteers must be 18+ to participate over the festival weekend. Limited junior roles at Muster HQ throughout the year may be available at the General Manager’s discretion. Contact Muster HQ for details.
